Nuura Apiales 9 Light Ceiling Light - Satin Black & Optic Smoked Glass

Apiales 9 Ceiling is the semi-flush version of Sofie Refer's branching Apiales design, with nine slender metal arms unfolding from a central canopy like flower stalks, each one carrying a small glass globe. Unlike the standard Apiales pendant, which drops on an adjustable cable, this version sits close to the ceiling, making it a good option for rooms where a long hanging chandelier wouldn't work.

Satin black and optic smoked glass

This version uses the satin black metal finish with optic smoked glass rather than the opal alternative. The glass has a translucent, smoky charcoal tone with a faceted, diced texture pressed into the inside surface, so the light that comes through is broken up into a soft, patterned glow rather than a flat white glow, giving the fixture more depth and shadow than the opal version.

How it works

Apiales 9 Ceiling takes nine G9 lamps, each rated up to 5W, so you can fit LED lamps to suit the brightness you want. It's rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms only. As a semi-flush fitting it sits close to the ceiling, standing around 39.9cm proud of the surface and spreading to roughly 59.5cm across, on a 14.5cm ceiling plate, which makes it a practical option for rooms with lower ceilings.

Where it works best

Rooms with standard or low ceiling heights, landings, or anywhere a chandelier silhouette is wanted without the drop of a full pendant.

Questions People Ask

Does this light need an electrician to install? It is a hardwired Class I fitting. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

Can I return it if I change my mind? No. Nuura fittings are made to order, so they are non-returnable once ordered, unless an item arrives faulty.

Which lamps does it take, and can it be dimmed? It takes nine G9 LED lamps, each up to 5W, which are not supplied. It can be dimmed if you fit dimmable LED lamps suited to your dimmer circuit.

How much space does the Apiales 9 Ceiling need? It is 399mm high and 595mm in diameter, with a 145mm ceiling plate. The globes are 120mm and 145mm across, so it suits rooms with lower ceilings.

Will the smoked glass look the same on every fitting? Not exactly. The glass is mouth blown, so the tone varies slightly between pieces, and the smoked glass looks different lit and unlit. If you are in doubt about colour, please call customer service.

Can I use it in a bathroom? No. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.
