The Alta is a tall steel bollard designed to mark a path or driveway with a steady column of light rather than a single bright point. Its cylindrical body sits on a fixed base, supplied with its own concrete anchor kit, so it goes in once and stays put through years of mowing, weather and foot traffic nearby.

Choosing the Large Size

At 850mm tall, this is the taller of the two Alta bollards, giving it enough height to read clearly along a driveway or boundary line rather than disappearing into planting. It suits spacing along a run where a shorter fitting would get lost.

How It Works

Alta takes a single E27 lamp up to 60W (bulb not included), is Class 2 double insulated, and stands 850mm high with a 150mm diameter. Its steel body is hot dip galvanised, then powder coated black, with an opal polycarbonate lens diffusing the light evenly along the column. It carries an IP65 rating and a 15 year guarantee against corrosion.

IP65 and the galvanised understructure make Alta a solid choice for driveways, boundary paths and exposed gardens, including coastal properties where salt air ages untreated metal quickly. It works well spaced evenly along a drive or paired at a gateway.

Norlys runs its own hot dip galvanising plant and testing laboratory at its Polish production facility, built specifically because standard finishes weren't holding up to Scandinavia's coastal weather. Fittings like Alta go through that same in house galvanising and powder coating process before they're finished in black, rather than relying on an off the shelf coating.
