The Cooler Toned Tiller for a Modern Coastal Look
Named after the tiller of a boat, the arm that steers the rudder, this lantern carries the same maritime spirit as the rest of the Navigator range, just dressed in a cooler tone. Satin Nickel takes the same solid brass body and finishes it in a smooth, silvery grey, giving it a more contemporary edge without losing any of the shape that makes the Tiller recognisable.
How It Works
The body is cast from solid brass and fitted with a clear ribbed glass diffuser that gives the light a soft, prismatic spread rather than a single hard beam. It is IP64 rated, so it can be fixed to an open exterior wall and left to deal with rain and coastal air without trouble. Cable enters at the rear of the wall plate, keeping the wiring out of sight once installed, and it takes a single ES / E27 lamp, not supplied, up to 7W.
Where It Works Best
Satin Nickel suits newer builds, rendered or painted exteriors and anywhere the rest of the hardware, door furniture or window frames leans towards grey or anthracite rather than warm wood tones. Unlike its brass siblings, it holds a steady, even grey throughout its life rather than warming or darkening, so it is the finish to pick if you want the lantern to look the same in ten years as it does on day one. Where Raw Brass changes with the weather and Antique Brass starts already aged, Satin Nickel stays consistent.

Questions People Ask
Does the Satin Nickel Tiller lantern suit a modern grey exterior better than the brass versions? Yes, its cool silvery tone was chosen for exactly that, pairing naturally with grey render, anthracite frames and contemporary door colours.
Will Satin Nickel tarnish or need polishing outdoors? No, unlike the raw brass option it will not develop a patina, so it keeps a consistent grey finish outdoors with only the usual occasional wipe down.
What is the difference between the Satin Nickel and Raw Brass Tiller lanterns beyond colour? The dimensions, glass diffuser, IP64 rating and lamp type are identical. The only real difference is how each finish behaves over time: Raw Brass changes and ages, Satin Nickel stays the same.
