Raw Brass is the Pharos Compact stripped back to first principles, bright, golden and completely unlacquered. Left uncoated, it will slowly darken and develop its own patina wherever salt air and weather reach it, so no two of these fixtures will look quite the same after a few years on the wall. If you like a finish that tells the story of the building it hangs on, this is the one.

How It Works

Solid brass construction sits at the heart of the Pharos Compact, throwing an up and down beam that gently graduates across the wall behind it. It carries an IP44 rating, so it copes well with rain and coastal moisture, and wiring enters through a cable gland in the mounting plate for a clean, sealed fit. It is designed around 2 x GU10 lamps (not supplied), leaving the choice of brightness and colour temperature entirely up to you.

Where It Works Best

Raw Brass suits anyone happy to let a fixture age naturally, think coastal cottages, converted boathouses, or courtyards where a bit of character is welcome. Compared with the Antique Brass version, which arrives already aged, or the cooler Satin Nickel option, Raw Brass is the finish for patience, watching the colour deepen and develop over the seasons rather than staying fixed from the day it goes up.

Does Raw Brass need any special care once it is fitted outdoors?
No special treatment is needed. Left alone, it will darken naturally over time, which is part of the appeal, though it can be cleaned and polished back up if you would rather keep the bright original tone.

How is Raw Brass different from the Antique Brass version of this light?
Antique Brass is pre aged at the factory so it arrives already toned down, while Raw Brass starts bright and gold and only develops its character once it is outside and exposed to the elements.
