Ship's Brass, Aged To Perfection
There is a certain kind of light that looks like it has already lived a life at sea, and that is exactly what the Wellington Post Lantern delivers in Antique Brass. The solid brass body carries a warm, deliberately weathered finish, as if it spent years catching salt spray on a harbour wall before it ever reached your garden. Paired with a clear ribbed glass diffuser, it throws a soft, golden glow that feels instantly established rather than newly installed.
How It Works
Built around a solid brass body, the Wellington Post Lantern uses a clear ribbed glass diffuser to spread light evenly rather than in a single hard beam. It takes one ES / E27 lamp, which is not supplied, so you can fit the bulb type and warmth you prefer, including LED. Cable enters through the base, keeping wiring hidden and protected once the lantern is fixed to its post. The whole fitting is rated IP54, meaning it is protected against dust and splashing water from any direction, so it is built to stay outdoors through wind, rain and salt air.
Where It Works Best
This is a post lantern first and foremost, so it earns its keep marking driveways, front paths, gateposts and garden boundaries rather than sitting flush to a wall. The Antique Brass finish suits period homes, cottages and anywhere with existing brass, stone or aged timber detailing, since it already carries that lived in warmth rather than needing years to develop it. Compared with its Raw Brass sibling, which starts bright and darkens naturally with weather over time, Antique Brass gives you that character from day one. Compared with Satin Nickel, which reads cooler and more contemporary, Antique Brass leans traditional and nautical, the kind of finish that suits a boot room door or a walled garden entrance.

Questions People Ask
Is the Wellington Post Lantern in Antique Brass suitable for a coastal garden?
Yes. It carries an IP54 rating, so it is built to handle rain, damp air and the kind of weather that comes with living near the sea, making it a sound choice for exposed coastal positions as well as more sheltered gardens.
Will the Antique Brass finish keep its aged look over time?
The Antique Brass finish is applied to already look weathered and established, and being solid brass underneath, it will continue to age gently outdoors rather than needing to be replaced when it changes tone.
What bulb does this lantern need?
It takes a single ES / E27 lamp, which is not included, so you can choose the brightness and colour temperature that suits your outdoor space, including LED options.
