A Fixture That Wears Its Years Well
There is a particular kind of brass that looks like it has already lived a life at sea, and that is exactly what you get with the Grand Cabin in Antique Brass. The surface carries a deep, toned patina from the outset, soft golds shifting into shadowed bronze, so it reads as something salvaged from an old ship's cabin rather than fresh off a factory line. Mount it beside a door or along a boundary wall and it settles in immediately, the kind of piece that looks better for having weather and years pass over it.
How It Works
Underneath that character finish is a solid brass body built to handle genuine outdoor exposure, rated IP64 so rain, sea spray and general weather will not trouble it. A clear ribbed glass diffuser wraps the lamp, spreading a soft, even glow rather than a single hard point of light while still protecting the bulb from knocks. It takes one ES / E27 lamp, not included, so you can choose the exact colour temperature and brightness you want. Cable gland entry is positioned at the end or the rear of the fitting, and a brass blank is supplied to seal off whichever entry point you do not use, keeping the installation neat and properly weathertight.
Where It Works Best
The Antique Brass finish suits period stonework, exposed brick and painted timber best, the sort of exteriors where a bright, polished metal would look out of place. Think boathouses, harbour cottages, porches and reclaimed coastal buildings where the fixture should look like it belongs to the structure rather than sit on top of it. Within the wider Grand Cabin lineup this is the warmer, more lived in option, while the Satin Nickel version alongside it leans cooler and more contemporary for rendered or glazed facades. Elsewhere in the Navigator collection, names like Palaemon, Pharos and Tiller take that same maritime brass language into porthole and lantern shapes, so this bulkhead sits within a much larger family built around ships and shorelines.

Questions People Ask
Will the Antique Brass finish keep changing colour outdoors?
It already carries its aged tone when it arrives, and because it is solid brass rather than a plated coating, it will continue to soften and deepen slightly with weather over time rather than peel or fade.
Is this bulkhead light strong enough for a genuinely exposed wall?
Yes, the IP64 rating means it is built for rain and coastal air, and the solid brass body is naturally resistant to corrosion, so it holds up well on exposed gables and seafront walls.
What size bulb does the Grand Cabin in Antique Brass take?
It is designed around a single standard ES / E27 lamp, which is not included, so you can fit an LED of whatever brightness and warmth suits the space.
