Raw Brass, Left to Weather Beautifully
This is the Navigator Marina Circular Bulkhead in its rawest form: solid brass with no lacquer between it and the air. Straight out of the box it has a warm, honeyed glow, and from the moment it goes up on an exterior wall it starts changing, slowly picking up the soft, mellow patina that only untreated brass develops outdoors. If you like a fixture that looks better with age rather than staying frozen in showroom condition, this is the finish built for you.
How It Works
Underneath that finish is a genuinely solid brass body, not a plated shell, paired with a frosted glass diffuser that spreads the light evenly rather than throwing a harsh point source. It is rated IP64, so it copes with rain, spray, and general outdoor exposure without fuss. Wiring runs in through a cable entry at the rear with a side gland connection, and it is designed to sit flush against the wall once mounted. It takes a single G9 lamp (not supplied), and the diffuser is secured in a way that needs a tool to remove, a small detail that matters when a fixture is going somewhere the public can reach it.
Where It Works Best
Think small and frequent rather than one big statement piece: steps, pathways, porches, boundary walls, marina walkways, or anywhere you would normally line up several low level lights rather than one large lantern. Its compact circular face keeps things unobtrusive in daylight, and its solid build means it is equally at home on a private coastal terrace or in a commercial or public setting where fixtures need to survive a lot of use. Within the Navigator range, this Raw Brass version sits alongside Antique Brass, which arrives already darkened for an instantly aged look, and Satin Nickel, which gives a cooler, more contemporary finish. Choose Raw Brass specifically if you want that transformation to happen naturally, on your wall, over time.

Questions People Ask
Is the Navigator Marina Circular Bulkhead in Raw Brass safe for a seafront or coastal home?
Yes. It carries an IP64 rating for exposure to wind and rain, and raw brass does not corrode the way untreated steel or iron would, it simply darkens and develops a patina over time, which suits a coastal setting rather than working against it.
Will this raw brass fixture stay bright and golden, or does the colour change?
Because it is left unlacquered, expect the colour to shift. It starts out warm and golden and gradually deepens to a richer, more weathered brass tone the longer it is outdoors, a natural process rather than a fault.
What bulb does the Marina Circular Bulkhead take, and is it included in the box?
It takes a single G9 lamp, which is not supplied, so you will need to add your preferred LED G9 bulb separately before installing it.
