Matte White: A Wide, Low Pendant With a Clean, Restrained Quality
The Tilia Ceramic Pendant in Matte White is a 14.5cm tall, 24cm wide handmade ceramic pendant with a plain matte white finish that is distinct from the Matte White Striped finish, no stripes, just the clean, restrained quality of a plain white ceramic in the Tilia's broad, shallow form. The matte white is applied by hand at Mullan Village and fired on site. At 24cm wide it has a confident, generous presence above a dining table, kitchen island or in a room where a clean, calm pendant is wanted without any decorative pattern or colour. The simplicity of the finish is, in the context of the Mullan ceramics collection, itself a kind of statement.
How It Works
The open ceramic shade faces downward, directing the E27 bulb's light into the room. The 24cm diameter creates a generous pool of warm light below. The plain matte white surface reflects light cleanly at the ceramic rim. Compatible with dimmable E27 bulbs. A warm white dimmable E27 LED works particularly well with the clean, restrained character of this finish.

The Story Behind Mullan
Mullan Lighting was founded in 2009 by architect Mike Treanor, who restored a derelict 19th century flax mill in Mullan Village, County Monaghan. Over 100 craftspeople work at the studio and every piece is made to order using sustainable clay and recycled brass. The studio distributes to more than 55 countries.

FAQs
How is this different from the Matte White Striped finish?
The Tilia Matte White has no stripes. It is a plain, clean white ceramic finish. The Matte White Striped finish in other Mullan ranges has fine hand painted stripes. If you want a completely plain white pendant, this is the one.
What bulb does the Tilia Pendant take?
It takes a standard E27 screw fit bulb, maximum 40W. Bulb not included. A warm white LED E27 works well with the plain matte white finish.
Is this suitable for a bathroom?
The Tilia Pendant is IP20 rated and suitable for dry indoor areas only. It is not certified for bathroom wet zones.
Can I use a dimmable bulb?
Yes. Compatible with dimmable E27 LED bulbs. Ensure your dimmer switch is rated for LED use. Bulb not included.
Can I return it?
No. Every Mullan light is made to order, so it cannot be returned unless it arrives faulty or damaged. If anything is wrong when it arrives, please contact us as soon as possible.
