Blue Earth: Natural Colour in a Wide Ceramic Pendant
The Seville Pendant in Blue Earth is a 15.5cm tall, 28cm wide handmade ceramic pendant with the layered teal and ocean tones of the blue earth finish in the broad, generous form of the Seville range. The colour is applied by hand at Mullan Village before firing, building up differently across every individual piece. At 28cm wide the blue earth finish has genuine room to show its depth and range of tone. In natural daylight the pendant reads as cool and aquatic. With a warm E27 bulb in the evening the deeper blues and greens within the glaze come forward and the pendant creates an atmosphere above the dining table that makes every meal feel genuinely considered.
How It Works
The open ceramic shade faces downward, directing the E27 bulb's light into the room. The 28cm diameter creates a broad, generous pool of warm light below. A warm white dimmable E27 LED is recommended to bring out the richer, deeper tones within the blue earth glaze in the evening.
Where It Works Best
The Blue Earth Seville Pendant is made for above a large dining table or a generous kitchen island where its broad form and natural colour creates a genuine focal point. The blue earth finish pairs particularly well with natural stone, pale timber, limewash plaster and warm neutral walls.
The Story Behind Mullan
Mullan Lighting was founded in 2009 by architect Mike Treanor, who restored a derelict 19th century flax mill in Mullan Village, County Monaghan. Ceramicist Stephen Kieran developed the blue earth finish as a translation of the blues and greens of the Irish landscape into a hand painted ceramic glaze. Over 100 craftspeople work at the studio and every piece is made to order using sustainable clay and recycled brass.

What bulb does the Seville Pendant take?
It takes a standard E27 screw fit bulb, maximum 40W. Bulb not included. A warm white LED E27 is recommended.
Will the colour look exactly like the photos?
The blue earth finish is hand applied in layers so the exact depth and distribution of colour varies naturally between pieces.
Is this suitable for a bathroom?
The Seville Pendant is IP20 rated and suitable for dry indoor areas only. It is not certified for bathroom wet zones.
Can I use a dimmable bulb?
Yes. Compatible with dimmable E27 LED bulbs. Ensure your dimmer switch is rated for LED use. Bulb not included.
Can I return it?
No. Every Mullan light is made to order, so it cannot be returned unless it arrives faulty or damaged. If anything is wrong when it arrives, please contact us as soon as possible.
