The Mullan Senna Ceiling Light in Matte White Striped occupies that rare space where a practical fitting becomes a genuine design statement. Mullan Lighting has been making handcrafted lights in the historic village of Mullan, County Monaghan, Ireland, since 2009. Founder and architect Mike Treanor established the studio inside a 19th century flax mill that had fallen into disrepair, bringing both the building and the village back to life in the process. That spirit of craft and revival remains at the core of everything the studio produces. With over 100 artisans, engineers and designers working in house, and distribution reaching more than 55 countries, Mullan has built a reputation for ceramic lighting that is recognised by some of the world's most discerning interior designers and hospitality operators.
The Senna ceiling light is a particularly versatile choice. It works well in bedrooms where a pendant would feel too imposing, in dining rooms where it can be used alongside wall lighting for a layered effect, and in hallways and kitchens where ceiling height makes a semi flush fitting the most practical solution. The ceramic shade sits close to the ceiling in a clean profile and the matte white striped surface catches warm bulb light beautifully, adding texture and depth to what might otherwise be a flat, unremarkable overhead fitting.
Finish options include antique brass, antique silver, matte black, polished brass and satin brass, giving you the flexibility to align the fitting with the broader metal palette of your interior. Each piece is made to order in Mullan Village using sustainable clay and recycled brass components, fired in the studio kiln and dispatched directly to you.
