Matte White Striped: Clean Craft With a Twin Bulb Output
The Sakura Wall Light in Matte White Striped is a 29cm tall, 11cm wide handmade ceramic wall fitting with the clean graphic precision of the matte white striped finish and a distinctive twin E27 bulb configuration that delivers a broader, more even light output than single bulb wall lights. The matte white ground and fine hand painted stripes give it a precision and craft quality that distinguishes it from anything mass produced. The twin bulb setup makes the Matte White Striped Sakura one of the most practical ceramic wall lights in the Mullan range alongside one of the most versatile finishes.
How It Works
The Sakura Wall Light takes 2 x E27 bulbs, directed outward and downward through the ceramic shade. Both bulbs should be the same type and wattage. A warm white dimmable E27 LED is recommended for both sockets. The matte white surface reflects light cleanly at the ceramic edges, brightening the wall around the fitting.
Where It Works Best
The Matte White Striped Sakura is one of the most adaptable wall lights in the Mullan range, pairing with virtually any wall colour, material combination and metal hardware finish. Its twin bulb output makes it particularly effective in larger rooms, open plan spaces and dining rooms where a higher light level at wall height is wanted from a fitting of genuine craft quality.
The Story Behind Mullan
Mullan Lighting was founded in 2009 by architect Mike Treanor, who restored a derelict 19th century flax mill in Mullan Village, County Monaghan. The matte white striped finish reflects the bleached stone and whitewashed plaster of the historic buildings surrounding the village. Over 100 craftspeople work at the studio and every piece is made to order using sustainable clay and recycled brass.

FAQs
Why does this wall light take two bulbs?
The Sakura takes 2 x E27 bulbs, both directed through the same shade, giving a brighter, more even light output than a single bulb fitting.
Will the stripes be perfectly even?
No, and that is intentional. The stripes are hand painted so there is natural variation in width and spacing.
Is this suitable for a bathroom?
The Sakura Wall Light is IP20 rated and suitable for dry indoor areas only. It is not certified for bathroom wet zones.
Can I use dimmable bulbs?
Yes. Compatible with dimmable E27 LED bulbs. Ensure your dimmer switch is rated for LED use. Bulbs not included.
Can I return it?
No. Every Mullan light is made to order, so it cannot be returned unless it arrives faulty or damaged. If anything is wrong when it arrives, please contact us as soon as possible.
