The Rivale Table Lamp in Blue Earth brings the layered teal and ocean tones of the blue earth finish to a compact, bedside-scaled ceramic table lamp. At 13cm tall and 21cm in diameter it sits comfortably on a bedside table, console or side table without dominating the surface, and the blue earth ceramic shade changes character as the light around it shifts — cooler and more aquatic in natural daylight, warmer and richer in the evening when lit from within. Every shade is hand painted at Mullan Village before firing, so no two pieces carry an identical depth or distribution of colour.
How It Works
The G9 lamp sits directly within the ceramic shade. The outward and slightly downward opening directs warm light onto the surface below and into the immediate area, with the blue earth ceramic glowing warmly at the rim. The layered tones of the finish interact with the quality of the bulb — a warm white LED brings out the deeper, earthier blues within the glaze, while cooler-spectrum bulbs emphasise the more aquatic, translucent quality of the finish. Compatible with dimmable G9 bulbs for full brightness control.

The Story Behind Mullan
Mullan Lighting was founded in 2009 by architect Mike Treanor, who restored a long-derelict 19th century flax mill in Mullan Village, County Monaghan. Ceramicist Stephen Kieran developed the blue earth finish as a translation of the blues and greens of the Irish landscape into a hand-painted ceramic glaze. The studio employs over 100 craftspeople, makes every piece to order using sustainable clay and recycled brass, and distributes to more than 55 countries.

The Rivale Table Lamp takes a G9 bulb, maximum 6.5W. Bulb not included. A warm white LED G9 works particularly well with the blue earth finish — a dimmable version if your circuit supports it.
Will the colour look exactly like the photos?
The blue earth finish is hand applied in layers, so the exact depth and distribution of colour varies naturally between pieces. The photos are a reliable guide to the overall tone but your lamp will have its own particular quality of colour — that is what makes handmade ceramic worth choosing.
Can I use a dimmable bulb?
Yes. Compatible with dimmable G9 LED bulbs — ensure your plug socket or circuit supports dimming. Bulb not included.
How long will delivery take?
