Mullan Lighting was founded in 2009 by architect Mike Treanor in Mullan Village, County Monaghan, Ireland, inside the shell of a derelict 19th century flax mill. The studio has grown from that single restored room into a facility with over 100 craftspeople producing handmade ceramic lights for export to more than 55 countries. The ceramic collection was developed to honour the centuries old tradition of Mullan as a village of makers, drawing colour and texture inspiration from the surrounding Irish landscape and the old stone buildings of the village itself. Every lamp is made to order, shaped and painted by hand, fired in the studio kiln, and dispatched directly to the customer.
