The Mullan Rivale Ceiling Light in Marbled finish is a flush ceramic and glass ceiling fitting with the timeless visual quality of hand painted marbled ceramic and the additional refinement of a glass shade that allows you to tailor the quality of the light to your space. The ceramic shade is formed and painted by hand at the studio in Mullan Village, County Monaghan, Ireland, with the swirling tones of cream, warm grey and natural stone applied individually to every piece. The marbling pattern is never reproduced identically because it is painted by hand, and paired with a clear, frosted or opal glass option the Rivale becomes a ceiling fitting of genuine visual complexity and decorative quality.
Mullan Lighting was established in 2009 by architect Mike Treanor inside a restored 19th century flax mill in Mullan Village. Ceramicist Stephen Kieran developed the marbling technique drawing on the layered stone and mineral textures of the Irish landscape. The Rivale ceiling light range pairs this ceramic expertise with glass shade options to create flush fittings with greater visual depth, and every piece is made entirely to order using sustainable clay and recycled brass. The studio employs over 100 craftspeople and exports to more than 55 countries.
The Rivale Marbled ceiling light suits dining rooms, bedrooms and living spaces where a flush fitting is practical and where the timeless marbled finish adds visual richness to the ceiling. Choose from clear, frosted or opal glass to control the quality of the light. The marbled finish works across a very wide range of interior palettes and material combinations.
