The Nakaii Wall Light in Terracotta and White is the most distinctive finish in the Nakaii wall light range. The two tone combination of warm terracotta and contrasting white is applied by hand at Mullan Village before firing, in a finish that references the whitewashed walls and sun warmed terracotta of coastal and Mediterranean inspired interiors. At 24cm tall and 20cm wide it has a substantial presence on a wall. The glass shade softens and distributes the G9 bulb's light while the terracotta and white ceramic body adds a note of warm, natural colour that feels genuine rather than decorative.

How It Works

The glass shade faces outward, diffusing and distributing the G9 bulb's warm light across the wall and into the room. The terracotta and white tones respond beautifully to warm light, the terracotta deepening as brightness dims. A warm white dimmable G9 LED suits the terracotta and white finish well. Note this variant takes a maximum 25W G9 bulb rather than 6.5W.

The Terracotta and White Nakaii is at home in living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and dining rooms with a warm, relaxed or naturally layered aesthetic. It works particularly well in rooms with limewash plaster walls, natural rattan, warm timber and woven textiles, and pairs well with antique brass and warm metal hardware. Used as a pair it creates a considered, balanced arrangement with genuine warmth and character.

The Story Behind Mullan

Mullan Lighting was founded in 2009 by architect Mike Treanor, who restored a derelict 19th century flax mill in Mullan Village, County Monaghan. The ceramics collection draws its colour palette from the Irish landscape and the historic buildings surrounding the village. Over 100 craftspeople work at the studio and every piece is made to order using sustainable clay and recycled brass.

What bulb does the Nakaii Terracotta and White Wall Light take?
This variant takes a G9 bulb, maximum 25W. Please note this is different to the other Nakaii Wall Light finishes which take a maximum 6.5W G9. Bulb not included. A warm white LED G9 suits the terracotta and white finish well.

Will my wall light look exactly like the photo?
The terracotta and white finish is hand applied, so the exact distribution and blending of the two tones varies naturally between pieces. The overall character will be consistent but your piece will have its own particular warmth and surface quality.

Is this suitable for a bathroom?
The Nakaii Wall Light is IP20 rated and suitable for dry indoor areas only. It is not certified for bathroom wet zones.

Can I use a dimmable bulb?
Yes. Compatible with dimmable G9 LED bulbs. Ensure your dimmer switch is rated for LED use. Bulb not included.

Can I return it?
No. Every Mullan light is made to order, so it cannot be returned unless it arrives faulty or damaged. If anything is wrong when it arrives, please contact us as soon as possible.
