Mullan Kauri Pendant 37cm - Marbled with Finish Options

Marbled Ceramic: Statement Scale With Timeless Character

The Kauri Pendant 37cm in Marbled finish is the largest pendant in the Mullan ceramic range and one of the most visually striking. At 37cm wide and 28cm tall the swirling tones of cream, warm grey and natural stone have genuine room to show their character. The marbling is applied individually at Mullan Village before firing. No two pieces carry an identical pattern, and at this scale the variation between pieces becomes something to celebrate rather than overlook. The result is a pendant that feels genuinely one of a kind every time.

How It Works

The open ceramic shade faces downward, directing the E27 bulb's light into the room. Without a glass shade the marbled ceramic does all the visual work, the tones reading differently in natural daylight compared to warm evening light. The 37cm diameter creates a broad, generous pool of warm light below, well suited to large dining tables and open plan spaces. A warm white dimmable E27 LED suits the marbled finish well.

Where It Works Best

The Marbled Kauri 37cm Pendant is made for above a large dining table where the scale of the shade creates a proper focal point and the marbled tones can be appreciated up close. It works equally well as a single statement piece in an open plan kitchen and living space or above a generous kitchen island. The marbled finish pairs naturally with natural stone surfaces, warm timber, aged brass and soft neutral textiles, and it has the kind of timeless quality that does not date.

The Story Behind Mullan

Mullan Lighting was founded in 2009 by architect Mike Treanor, who restored a derelict 19th century flax mill in Mullan Village, County Monaghan. Ceramicist Stephen Kieran developed the marbling technique by drawing on the layered stone and mineral textures of the Irish landscape surrounding the village. Over 100 craftspeople work at the studio and every piece is made to order using sustainable clay and recycled brass.

FAQs

What bulb does the Kauri 37cm Pendant take?
It takes a standard E27 screw fit bulb, maximum 40W. Bulb not included. A warm white LED E27 suits the marbled finish well. A dimmable version lets you adjust the atmosphere throughout the day and evening.

Can the cable length be adjusted?
The pendant is supplied with 1m of cable. Your electrician can adjust this during installation if a different hanging height is needed.

Will my pendant look exactly like the photo?
The marbling is hand painted so the pattern on your piece will differ from the photos. The tones will be consistent, cream, warm grey and natural stone, but the character of the marbling is unique to every piece fired at Mullan Village.

Can I use a dimmable bulb?
Yes. Compatible with dimmable E27 LED bulbs. Ensure your dimmer switch is rated for LED use. Bulb not included.

Can I return it?
No. Every Mullan light is made to order, so it cannot be returned unless it arrives faulty or damaged. If anything is wrong when it arrives, please contact us as soon as possible.
