Mullan Coco Wall Light - Matte White Striped with Finish Options

Matte White Striped, Compact and Versatile

The Coco Wall Light in Matte White Striped is the most adaptable finish in the compact Coco range. At 10cm tall and 10.5cm wide with a 19cm projection, it fits in rooms of any size and adapts to virtually any interior palette. The matte white ground and fine stripes are applied by hand at Mullan Village before firing, each shade painted individually rather than machine produced, which means the striping carries a natural variation that distinguishes it from anything standardised. Clean, precise and genuinely handmade.

How It Works

The open ceramic shade faces outward and slightly downward, directing the G9 bulb's warm light across the wall surface and into the room. The matte white surface reflects light cleanly at the edges, brightening the immediate wall area while the stripes add texture and visual interest that a plain white fitting could never offer. Compatible with dimmable G9 LED bulbs for full mood control.

Where It Works Best

The Matte White Striped Coco suits bedrooms, bathrooms adjacent to dry zones, smaller hallways and living rooms equally well. It is particularly effective as a pair either side of a bed or mirror, adding a light and precise note to the wall without competing with anything else in the scheme. The finish pairs with virtually any wall colour, material and hardware finish, making it the natural first choice when you want handmade quality without committing to a strong colour.

The Story Behind Mullan

Mullan Lighting was founded in 2009 by architect Mike Treanor, who restored a derelict 19th century flax mill in Mullan Village, County Monaghan. The matte white striped finish reflects the bleached stone and whitewashed plaster of the historic buildings surrounding the village. Over 100 craftspeople work at the studio and every piece is made to order using sustainable clay and recycled brass.

FAQs

What bulb does the Coco Wall Light take?
It takes a G9 capsule bulb, maximum 6.5W. Bulb not included. A warm white LED G9 works well with the matte white striped finish. A dimmable version gives full control over the mood in the room.

Will the stripes be perfectly even?
No, and that is intentional. The stripes are hand painted so there is natural variation in width and spacing. The overall impression is clean and graphic but up close you can see it was made by a person.

Is this suitable for a bathroom?
The Coco Wall Light is IP20 rated and suitable for dry indoor areas only. It is not certified for bathroom wet zones. Please contact us if you need a bathroom rated wall light and we will advise.

Can I use a dimmable bulb?
Yes. Compatible with dimmable G9 LED bulbs. Ensure your dimmer switch is rated for LED use. Bulb not included.

Can I return it?
No. Every Mullan light is made to order, so it cannot be returned unless it arrives faulty or damaged. If anything is wrong when it arrives, please contact us as soon as possible.
