Mitzi Zara 5 Light Island Light - Aged Brass & White

A run of light built for the island

The Zara 5 Light Island Light stretches the same Belgian linen drum design into a linear run of five shades, spaced evenly along an aged brass bar. It is built to sit above a run of worktop or a long table, giving an even spread of light along the whole length rather than one single pool.

Aged brass and white finish

Each of the five drums is wrapped in the same white Belgian linen with black trim, so the overlapping pattern repeats along the run and reads as one continuous design rather than five separate shades. The aged brass bar and fittings above give the whole fixture a warm, consistent finish end to end.

How it works

The fixture takes five E27 bulbs, each rated up to 60W (bulbs not included). It measures approximately 120cm long and 38cm in height, and hangs on adjustable rods with a minimum drop of around 46cm and a maximum of around 114cm, so it can be set to suit your ceiling height. Fixture weight is approximately 7.8kg.

Where it works best

At just over a metre long, this is designed for a run above a kitchen island or a long dining table, somewhere that benefits from an even spread of light rather than a single central drop. It also works well above a long console or a breakfast bar.

About Mitzi

Now run by its third generation, Mitzi is a family lighting business from New York's Hudson Valley, named after the founder's grandmother. She was a painter and antique collector known for spotting a good piece before anyone else did, and the brand still designs with that same aim: lighting with genuine character that does not have to feel like a luxury.

• Takes 5 x E27 bulbs, maximum 60W each, bulbs not included. Overall length is approximately 120cm (47.25in), with an adjustable hanging height of roughly 46cm to 114cm (18in to 45in).
• Moonlight Design recommends installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.
