Mitzi Olivia 1 Light Wall Sconce Light - Aged Brass

A softly glowing torch for the wall

The Olivia wall sconce pairs a single slender metal arm with a glowing linen shade, borrowing the shape of an old fashioned torch and softening it for modern rooms. A straight arm rises from a round backplate and holds the shade upright at the top, so the light falls in a warm pool rather than a hard glare. It is a compact, wall mounted fixture built for a single spot rather than a ceiling, and it reads equally well in a hallway or beside a favourite armchair.

Aged Brass finish

This version is finished in Aged Brass, a warm, softly weathered tone that Mitzi describes as bringing an heirloom quality to the design. The finish sits comfortably against dark paint, panelling or exposed brick, and pairs happily with older brass fittings rather than fighting with them.

How it works

Olivia takes a single E12 candelabra bulb rated up to 40W (not included), housed inside a white linen shade measuring approximately 16.5cm high and 9cm across. The fixture stands about 48cm tall and 12cm wide, and projects roughly 10cm from the wall on a 12cm round backplate, so it sits close and unobtrusive rather than jutting into a room.

Where it works best

Its small footprint and single arm make it a natural fit either side of a mirror, either side of a bed, or spaced along a hallway or staircase wall where a run of soft light is more useful than one big statement. It also works well beside a reading chair or on a landing, where a ceiling light alone tends to leave things flat.
