A single clean line on the wall

The Miley wall sconce is built around one elongated glass diffuser, shaped like a rounded capsule, that sits upright against a slim aged brass backplate. The frame itself is steel, kept narrow so the opal glossy glass does the visual work rather than a heavy shade or an ornate arm. It reads as calm and considered rather than decorative, a fitting for anyone who wants a wall light that doesn't compete with the room around it.

Aged brass finish

The aged brass backplate has a warm, softly weathered tone rather than a bright polish, so it sits comfortably against darker paint, exposed brick or plaster walls without pulling focus from the glass. It also pairs easily with black ironmongery, walnut furniture or other brass fittings if you're matching metals through a room.

How it works

Miley takes a single E27 bulb rated up to 6W, wired through an 18cm cable with a cord rated to VDE standards. The fixture stands 75cm tall and projects 15cm from the wall, on an oval backplate measuring 12cm by 12cm. The glass diffuser itself is 40cm tall with a 10cm diameter, giving it real presence as a vertical line of light. All told it weighs 2.27kg, light enough for a standard wall fixing.

Where it works best

Its height and narrow profile suit hallways, staircases and either side of a bedroom mirror, where a tall, slim light adds height to a wall without crowding it. It also works well either side of a fireplace or a console table in a living room, anywhere a single vertical glow does more for the space than a wide spread of light.
