Mitzi Landis 1 Light Table Lamp - Aged Brass & Black

Curves and straight lines, cast as one

Landis brings together a base that moves between clean, straight edges and softer curves, topped with a black metal dome shade pierced by rows of small perforations. Rather than sending light only downward, the perforations let it escape in scattered points across the metal itself, so the lamp reads as much like a piece of sculpture as it does a light source.

Aged Brass and Black finish

The dome shade wears a soft, matte black that keeps the perforated pattern looking crisp rather than busy, while the base underneath is cast in aged brass with a warm, slightly worn tone rather than a bright polish. Together they suit a walnut or oak side table just as readily as a cooler, more contemporary setting.

How it works

Landis takes a single G25 globe bulb, rated up to 8W, seated on a harp beneath the perforated dome shade. The lamp stands 44.5cm tall, with a 35.6cm wide shade and a 25.4cm diameter base. It is a plug in fitting, powered through its own cord with an inline switch built in, so there is no wiring into a lighting circuit involved in setting it up.

Where it works best

Its tabletop scale suits a console or sideboard in a hallway or living room, whether placed alone or as a pair either side of a sofa. It also works well as a bedside lamp for anyone after something with more presence than a plain bedside light.
