Mitzi Josie 2 Light Wall Sconce Light - White & Gold Leaf

A cuff shaped light for the wall

Josie takes its shape from a single sheet of metal, curved and cinched at the centre so it flares open at the top and bottom like a cuff wrapped around the forearm. Inside, a slim opal glass tube runs the height of the piece, letting light spill out through the openings left by the sculpted metal form.

White finish

Here the cuff is finished in a soft, chalky white with the inner curve lined in hand applied gold leaf, so the gold only properly reveals itself once the piece is lit or viewed up close. The effect is softer and more tonal than a darker finish would give, sitting comfortably against pale walls, panelling or plaster, and pairing naturally with warm woods, brass hardware or other gold accents nearby.

How it works

Two G9 bulbs, each rated up to 35W and not included, fit inside the central glass tube and cast light upward and downward along the wall. The fixture measures 43.18cm in height and 12.7cm in width, projects 13.97cm from the wall, and mounts on a round backplate 11.43cm across.

Where it works best

Josie is a decorative, fashion forward fitting rather than a workhorse task light, so it suits places where its sculpted profile can be seen and appreciated, either side of a dressing table mirror, framing a headboard, or set along a landing or staircase wall. It also works well in a hallway or entrance that wants a considered, jewellery style moment on an otherwise plain wall.
