Mitzi Josie 2 Light Wall Sconce Light - Black & Gold Leaf

A sculpted cuff for the wall

Josie takes a single sheet of metal and wraps it into a shape that curves and cinches at the centre before flaring open top and bottom, echoing the line of a cuff worn around the forearm. At its core sits a slender opal glass tube that carries the light upward and downward, glowing out through the gaps left where the sculpted metal opens.

Black finish

In black, the cuff reads as a strong, graphic silhouette, matte against the wall, while the inner curve is lined in hand applied gold leaf that only properly reveals itself once the sconce is lit. It is a combination that can lean dramatic in the right setting, working comfortably in rooms that already favour black hardware, dark paint or a moodier palette, and just as happily standing out as a flash of contrast against lighter walls.

How it works

Two G9 bulbs, each rated up to 35W and not included, sit inside the central glass tube and throw light both up and down the wall. The fixture stands 43.18cm tall and 12.7cm wide, projects 13.97cm from the wall, and fixes to a round backplate measuring 11.43cm across.

Where it works best

This is a decorative, fashion forward fitting rather than a purely functional one, so it earns its place as a statement either side of a mirror, flanking a bed, or spaced along a hallway or staircase wall where its silhouette can be read from a distance. It also suits an entryway or dressing area looking for a finishing touch with the presence of jewellery.
