Mitzi Demi 1 Light Wall Sconce Light - Aged Brass

A longer stem on the same silhouette

This is the taller of the two Demi wall sconces: the same pleated shade and minimalist metalwork as the curved version, but carried on a long straight stem that lifts the fixture to around 82cm, rather than sitting low and close to the wall. It reads more like a slender wall mounted lamp than a compact sconce.

Aged Brass finish

The aged brass here has a soft, burnished glow that suits period features, timber tones and other warm metals in the room. Running the length of a long stem like this, the finish catches the light along its full height rather than just around the shade.

How it works

It takes a single E27 (ES) medium base bulb rated up to 15W, set inside a pleated linen shade on a steel frame in aged brass. The sconce stands roughly 82cm tall and 20cm wide, projects about 23cm from the wall, and fixes to a 14cm round backplate, larger than the curved Demi's fitting.

Where it works best

The extra height suits spots where light needs to travel further up or down the wall, such as beside a bed where the shade sits well above pillow height, either side of a large mirror, or flanking a fireplace where a shorter sconce would look lost.

About Mitzi

Now run by the third generation of its founding family, Mitzi grew out of a lighting business based in New York's Hudson Valley. The name honours the founder's grandmother, a painter with a collector's eye who was known for tracking down antiques at a fair price, and that same idea, that good design shouldn't be reserved for the biggest budgets, still shapes what Mitzi makes today.
