There is nothing shy about Tobago in black. It is the same slender aluminium bar as the rest of the range, but finished in a deep matte black that reads as a graphic mark on the wall rather than a light fitting, on or off.

Choosing Your Finish

Matte black gives Tobago its most graphic, statement finish, ideal if you want the fixture itself to be part of the composition rather than blend into the background. The same design is available in white for a quieter, more recessive look, and in brushed gold if you want warmth and shine. This 90cm bar is the shorter of two lengths, alongside a 125cm option, so decide on finish first and then choose the length that fits your wall or the drama you are after.

How It Works

A single 9W integrated LED runs the length of the bar, giving 760 lumens of 3000K warm light spread across a 110º beam so it washes the wall evenly rather than throwing a hot spot. It carries an IP20 rating and is built to Class I electrical standards, meaning it must be earthed and is suitable for dry indoor rooms only. Have it wired in by a qualified electrician, as with any hardwired fixture.

Where It Works Best

At 90cm, this is a more compact statement piece than its 125cm sibling, well suited to a living room feature wall, either side of a chimney breast, or a hallway where a full length run would be too much. It can also be grouped in twos or threes at staggered heights and angles for a more sculptural arrangement, as Mantra shows in its own styling images with several bars crossing on one wall.
