Nora's tall bell shaped glass shade gives this fitting a lantern like presence overhead, and in this finish the effect is light rather than moody, with a clear glass shade that lets you see straight through to a frosted inner tube glowing at its centre.

Choosing This Finish

Here the ceiling plate is white and the collar is a natural wood finish, giving the fitting a warmer, more organic feel than its black marble sibling. The clear outer glass with a frosted inner tube means the light source itself stays gently diffused rather than fully exposed, so the wood collar and the glass shade both stay the visual focus rather than a bare bulb. If your scheme runs darker, the same shape is also available with a black ceiling plate, black marble collar and smoked chrome glass as a separate listing.

How It Works

Nora takes a single E27 bulb rated up to 20W, in either a GLS A60 or a slimmer tubular T45 shape, and the bulb is not supplied with the fitting. Because the outer glass is clear, the shape and finish of whichever bulb you choose will be partly visible through the frosted inner tube, so a warm white LED in a decorative shape tends to suit this finish particularly well. The fitting is rated Class I with an IP20 rating for dry indoor rooms.

At 34cm high and 20cm across, Nora sits close to the ceiling as a semi flush fitting rather than a low hanging pendant, which suits bedrooms, hallways and landings with standard ceiling heights. The lighter finish works particularly well in rooms with wood furniture or warmer neutral tones, where a black fitting would stand out more than blend in.

Questions People Ask

Can I see the bulb through the glass?
The outer shade is clear glass but the inner tube is frosted, so the bulb's glow is softened even though the outer glass itself is transparent.

What bulb should I use?
Any E27 bulb up to 20W in a GLS A60 or tubular T45 shape will fit. The bulb is not included, so you can pick the warmth and brightness that suits the room.

Does this need professional installation?
