Rather than a single downlight, Niseko II spreads its glow around a wide circular band, softening the ceiling instead of throwing one hard beam into the room. This 90cm version is the larger of the two Niseko II sizes, giving it enough visual presence to work as the main light in a room with a bit of scale to it.

Choosing This Finish

This one comes in plain white, a finish designed to sit quietly against most ceiling colours rather than draw attention to itself. It suits pared back, contemporary schemes where you want the light doing the work rather than the fixture itself standing out. The same 90cm shape is also produced in black, gold and a wood effect finish, so if you would rather the ceiling light read as a warmer feature piece, those alternatives are worth comparing, and the 65cm white sits at the smaller end of the same family.

How It Works

Inside the ring is a single 78W integrated LED engine producing 6200 lumens, with a colour rendering index above 80 for accurate looking colour beneath it. The white output is tuneable between 2700K and 5000K, adjusted using the remote control supplied with the fitting, so the same light can run warm in the evening and cooler and brighter during the day. It is Class I electrically and designed for standard indoor ceiling mounting.

Where It Works Best

The 90cm diameter makes this the size to choose for a larger living room, an open plan kitchen diner or a generous main bedroom, anywhere a smaller fitting would look out of proportion against the ceiling. Because light comes from the whole ring rather than a single point, it gives an even ambient wash across the room, and the tuneable white lets it double as both a relaxed evening light and a brighter setting for daytime tasks. Where the room is more modest in scale, the 65cm Niseko II gives the same white finish in a smaller footprint.

Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting, including this fitting, is installed by a registered NICEIC electrician rather than fitted DIY.

What is the difference between the 65cm and 90cm versions?
They share the same ring design and finish options, but the 90cm is the larger fitting with a higher wattage and lumen output, better suited to bigger rooms, while the 65cm suits more modest spaces.
