Choosing This Finish

This 50cm ring is finished in a wood effect veneer, with grain visible along the outer edge of the band while the inner face glows with a soft white light. The same 50cm size is also available in white, black and gold from Mantra, so if timber tones do not suit your scheme there are alternatives at this diameter. Wood effect finishes generally read best in rooms that already lean toward natural materials or warmer colour palettes.

How It Works

A 40W integrated LED runs inside the ring, putting out roughly 2950 lumens across a beam angle of around 145 degrees, giving an even wash of light rather than a single bright point. Using the included remote, the colour temperature can be tuned anywhere between 2700K and 5000K, so the fitting can move from a soft evening glow to a brisker white for daytime tasks. Colour rendering is rated above 80 CRI. Because the LED is integrated, there is nothing separate to buy or fit.

Where It Works Best

At 50cm across, this size sits comfortably over a small to medium dining table, above a living room seating area, or in a hallway or landing with enough ceiling height to let it hang properly. The drop adjusts between 50cm and 200cm to suit the room. It is a more versatile middle size than its 38cm and 65cm siblings, large enough to read as a proper feature but not so large that it needs a big open room to make sense.
