Meribel is built to work without anyone touching a switch. Solar charged and triggered by motion, its boxed glass and metal frame lights the moment someone approaches, then settles again once they've moved on.

Design And Options

Meribel's frame and glass panel design gives the lamp the look of a small lit display case rather than a conventional lantern, with the light appearing to float behind clear glazing inside a slim graphite frame. This wall mounted lamp is part of a wider Meribel range that also includes a matching solar pedestal light, so the two can be used together to carry a consistent look from a wall through to a path or gatepost.

How It Works

Meribel charges itself via an integrated solar panel and needs no mains wiring at all, making it a genuinely cable free fitting. A built in PIR sensor switches the 2.2W integrated LED on when it detects movement nearby, giving a warm 3000K light with a colour rendering index above 80, and a rocker switch lets you turn the unit on or off manually when needed. Rated IP54 and built from die cast aluminium, it's a Class III fitting, so it runs on safe low voltage rather than a mains connection.

Where It Works Best

As a solar and sensor powered fitting with no cable to run, Meribel is suited to spots that are awkward or costly to wire, gateposts, garden walls, sheds, or a side passage where mains power isn't nearby. It is an outdoor fitting only, best mounted somewhere the solar panel gets reasonable daylight so it can recharge, and works well alongside the matching Meribel pedestal light either side of a path or entrance.
