How It Works

Eve takes three E27 lampholders, each rated for a bulb of up to 20W, and no bulbs are supplied so you can choose your own colour temperature. A frosted diffuser sits inside the base of the drum, softening the light rather than exposing bare bulbs from below. The suspension cable is height adjustable at the point of installation, giving a workable drop of roughly 60cm up to a maximum of 150cm, so the shade can be set close to a low ceiling or dropped further over a table. As a Class I fitting it must be wired to an earthed supply.

At 50cm across, the drum shade is generous enough to anchor a dining table without dominating a smaller room, and the adjustable drop means it can be tucked closer to the ceiling in a bedroom where headroom is tighter. Where Mantra's chrome and white version of Eve suits brighter, more traditional interiors, this anthracite and black edition works harder in contemporary or moodier spaces, dining rooms with dark joinery, bedrooms with warm timber tones, snugs where you want the fitting itself to recede into the scheme.
