A Dark Ring With a Neat Profile
Coin in black keeps its drum shape restrained and matte, built to disappear into a dark ceiling by day and glow evenly once switched on. It is the plainer, more architectural option in the Coin range.
Choosing Your Size
Colour is fixed here to a solid matte black, so sizing is the real choice to make. The 38cm small version suits a hallway, utility room or a compact breakfast nook. The 50cm medium size is sized for a standard kitchen or dining room. The 65cm large version is built to light an open plan kitchen diner or a larger dining room on its own. All three share the same black finish and drum profile, just scaled up or down.
How It Works
A handheld remote lets you tune Coin's colour temperature anywhere between 2700K and 5000K, moving from a relaxed warm white to a crisper daylight tone as needed. The small size runs a 56W integrated LED at 2500 lumens, the medium a 80W LED at 3900 lumens, and the large a 100W LED at 6000 lumens, each housed in a fitting just 7cm deep.

Mantra designs Coin for kitchens and dining rooms, and the black finish reads particularly well against darker cabinetry or exposed ceiling beams, where a white fitting would stand out more than intended. Its flat 7cm profile also keeps it clear of extractor hoods and wall units.

Mantra has been designing lighting from its Valencia base since 2000, built around the idea that designer looking fittings should not need a designer budget. Designer Jose Ignacio Ballester joined the company in 2007 and has contributed collections that lean toward this kind of clean, architectural form. More recently, Mantra's design team picked up a Gold award at the regional ADCV design awards in 2024, recognition that reflects the same in house design thinking behind fittings like Coin.
