A Small Stainless Steel Recessed Step Light
The LuxR Modux 4 Step Light is a small low voltage recessed light that gives a horizontal wash, 5º below the flange lip and 10º above it. The body is 41mm across and 62mm long, with an 11mm deep flange.
Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel
This version is precision machined from marine grade 316 stainless steel, which keeps a crisp, cool silver look outdoors. It sits well in contemporary stone, render and slate. The light source is a replaceable 4 watt Cree LED with a CRI of 90 plus.
Choose Your Colour Temperature
- Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
How It Works
The body is set into a cut-out of 43.5mm and throws a horizontal wash across the surface. The fitting runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, and it is wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. A 1m cable is supplied. The LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
Use it to light the wall beside step treads, the treads themselves, the space above a doorway, or as a path wayfinder. It is also available in the Micro and M2.

Does it come with a driver?
No. It is a low voltage fitting and needs a suitable constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.
Is the stainless steel suitable for outdoors?
Yes. It is marine grade 316 stainless steel and the fitting is rated IP68.
Can I change the LED later?
Yes. The Cree LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.
