A Small Stainless Steel Spike Spot for Garden Planting
The LuxR Modux 4 Spike Spot is a small low voltage garden spotlight on a solid 175mm spike that pushes straight into the soil. The body is 41mm across and 65mm long, so it works well for lighting a shrub, a small tree or a feature in a border.
Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel
This version is precision machined from marine grade 316 stainless steel. It keeps a crisp, cool silver look outdoors, which suits modern planting and hard landscaping. The light source is a replaceable 4 watt Cree LED with a CRI of 90 plus, so foliage and stonework look true to colour.
Choose Your Beam, Colour and Lens
- Beam: 26º is the narrowest for a single feature, 36º suits a larger shrub, and 74º is the widest for a broader patch of planting.
- Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
- Lens: clear gives the sharpest beam, while frosted softens the edges of the light.
How It Works
Push the spike into the soil and angle the head towards your subject. The fitting runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, and it is wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. A 1m cable is supplied. The LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
Use it in borders, around the base of a tree or beside a path where you want a discreet light that hides in the planting. It is also available in the smaller M1 and the M2.
