A Copper Submersible Pond Light With a Weighted Base
The LuxR Modux 4 Pond Light is a small low voltage light made to sit in a pond or water feature. It has a weighted base and a 12V integral driver, and it comes with 3m of cable. It is submersible up to 9m. The light source is a 4 watt Cree LED with a CRI of 90 plus.
Solid Copper That Ages Naturally
This version is machined from copper. Under water and in the open air it develops a natural patina over time, so it slowly takes on a softer, deeper tone that sits well among pond planting and stone. For a cool silver look, the same pond light is also made in marine grade 316 stainless steel.
Choose Your Beam, Colour and Lens
- Beam: 26º is a narrow beam for a single feature such as a fountain jet or a plant, 36º is a medium beam, and 74º is a wide wash for a bigger area of water or planting.
- Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
- Lens: clear gives the sharpest beam, while frosted softens the edges of the light.
How It Works
Place the light in the water on its weighted base and aim it towards your subject. Because it has a 12V integral driver, it does not use a separate constant current driver. It is installed in parallel with a remote transformer, and it is dimmable when paired with a suitable transformer. The LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
This is a good choice for garden ponds, water features and bubbling pools, where you want the water or the planting around it to glow. Use it to light a fountain, uplight a marginal plant or add depth to a dark corner of a pond. The same design is also available in M1 and M2 sizes.

Do I need a separate driver?
No separate constant current driver is needed, because the light has a 12V integral driver. It is installed in parallel with a remote transformer. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.
Which beam angle should I choose?
Choose 26º to light a single feature, 36º for a medium sized area and 74º for a broad wash across planting or a wider stretch of water.
Will the copper change colour?
Yes. Copper develops a natural patina over time, so the finish softens and darkens gradually. This is normal and is part of its appeal.
