A Small Copper Bracket Spotlight with a Glare Guard
The LuxR Modux 4 Bracket Mount with Glare Guard is a very small outdoor spotlight on a stiff metal bracket. It fixes to almost any surface with a 4mm diameter screw. The body is just 41mm across and 115mm long, and the glare guard shields the eye from the direct glare of the light source.
Copper That Develops a Natural Patina
This version is machined from copper. It starts out warm and bright, then slowly develops a soft natural patina outdoors, so it blends into walls, timber and planting over the years. The light source is a replaceable 4 watt Cree LED with a CRI of 90 plus.
Choose Your Beam, Colour and Lens
- Beam: 26º is a narrow beam for picking out a single feature, 36º is a medium beam, and 74º is a wide beam for a broader spread.
- Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
- Lens: clear gives the sharpest beam, while frosted softens the edges of the light.
How It Works
Screw the bracket to a wall, fence or timber post and angle the head towards your subject. The fitting runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, and it is wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. A 1m cable is supplied. The LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
It suits trees, climbers, walls and fences where there is no ground to push a spike into. The glare guard is useful where the light may be seen from a seat or a path. It is also available in the M2 size.

How is the Modux 4 bracket spotlight fixed in place?
It comes on a stiff metal bracket that fixes to almost any surface with a 4mm diameter screw.
Does it come with a driver?
No. It is a low voltage fitting and needs a suitable constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered NICEIC electrician installs it.
Which beam angle should I choose?
Choose 26º for a tight beam on one feature, 36º for a medium spread, and 74º when you want to cover more of a wall or a larger shrub.
Will the copper change colour?
Yes. Copper develops a natural patina outdoors over time, so the finish will soften and darken gradually. This is normal and is part of its appeal.
What does the glare guard do?
It shields the eye from the direct glare of the LED, so the light is more comfortable to look at from nearby.
