A Powder Coated Square Light Wash with One Facet, in Four Colours
The LuxR Modux 2 Square Light Wash is a very small low voltage feature light that casts a narrow decorative band of light 5º below the flange lip. This is the 1 facet version: a facet is the opening that the light is emitted from, so this one has a single opening. For the exact light distribution, please check the product spec sheet or contact us. The recessed body is 41mm across and 62mm long, with a square flange.
UV Powder Coated Aluminium
This version is made from aluminium with a UV powder coat in Matt Black, Matt Bronze, Matt White or Matt Dark Grey, so the flange can match the wall, step or cladding it is fitted to. The light source is a 2 watt Cree LED.
Choose Your Colour and Colour Temperature
- Powder coat colour: Matt Black and Matt Dark Grey suit darker surfaces, Matt Bronze sits well on warm brick or timber, and Matt White disappears into pale walls.
- Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
How It Works
The light is recessed into a wall, step riser or other surface using a 43.5mm cut out. The fitting runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, and it is wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. A 1m cable is supplied. The LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
Use it to light the wall beside step treads, the treads themselves, the space above a doorway, or as a path wayfinder. Moonlight Design uses LuxR fittings in its own garden lighting designs and installations. It is also available in M4.

What is a facet?
A facet is the opening that the light is emitted from.
What is the difference between 1 facet and 2 facet?
A facet is the opening that the light is emitted from. The 1 facet version has one opening and the 2 facet version has two. The two versions share the same body and flange size. Please check the product spec sheet or contact us to confirm the exact light distribution for your project.
What size hole do I need?
The cut out is 43.5mm. The recessed body is 41mm across and 62mm long, and the flange is 53mm wide.
