A Soft Downward Wash For Borders And Paths
The Pathmaster throws its light outwards and down rather than out towards the eye, so beds, lawn edges and paved paths pick up a calm, even glow rather than a glare of white beams. At 450mm tall it sits at a height that reads as garden lighting rather than a floodlight, and needs nothing more than sunlight to run.
Choosing your finish
The Pathmaster comes in a single graphite black finish, with a frosted white polycarbonate diffuser that keeps the light source itself hidden from view. There is no colour choice to make here, only how you want it fixed in place, see Good to know below for the two mounting methods included in the box.
How it works
An in built Osram LED sits behind the diffuser, producing around 300 lumens of 6000K daylight white light across a 120º spread. A built in light sensor switches the fitting on automatically once dusk falls, then a staged dimming sequence stretches the charge through the night: full brightness for the first hour, 80% for the second, 60% for the third, 40% through hours four to seven, then 20% for the remainder of the night. Power comes from a single monocrystalline solar cell in the domed top, charging a 3.2V 8AH LiFePO4 battery.
Where it works best
Because it can be pushed into soft ground on its 210mm spike or bolted down to a hard surface, the Pathmaster suits flowerbeds and lawn edges just as easily as a run of paving or a driveway border. Its low, anti glare profile makes it a natural choice for lining a path in a repeating row rather than standing alone as a single feature light.

Questions People Ask
Does the Pathmaster need any wiring?
No. It runs entirely on solar power, so there is no cable to run and no connection to the mains supply.
Will it still work on shorter winter days?
The dimming sequence is designed to stretch a single day's charge through a full night by gradually lowering the output after the first few hours, so it should still provide useful light even when the solar panel has less daylight to draw on.
Can I fix it to a patio rather than into a lawn?
Yes. The surface mounting base supplied with the Pathmaster lets you bolt it securely to patios, driveways or paved paths, as an alternative to the ground spike.
