Domus: Clean Louvres for a Softly Lit Path

Domus keeps things simple, a compact aluminium column with horizontal louvres that throw light downward and out to the sides rather than up into your eyes, finished here in a matt white that sits quietly against pale render, gravel or stone.

Choosing your height and switching

Two heights are available, a 0.6m post for close, tight spacing or a taller 0.9m post for a bit more presence along a longer run. Choose None if you would rather wire the light onto a switched circuit and fit your own bulb, or pick one of the Photocell options, in either 3000K warm white or 6000K daylight white, each supplied with a 9W Lumena dusk to dawn LED GLS bulb and built in sensor so the path light switches itself on at dusk and off at dawn.

How it works

Aluminium louvres sit around a vandal resistant polycarbonate lens, spreading light evenly in all directions while cutting glare. The fitting itself will run high output LED bulbs, including dimmable LEDs, up to 100W, though a 6W LED filament bulb is the recommended fit for most gardens and paths, sold separately if you choose the None option. For even coverage, space fittings 2 to 3 metres apart along the same side of a path, or 4 to 5 metres apart if staggering them from side to side.

Where it works best

The low, louvred head suits pathways, entrances and patios where you want a defined line of light without a row of visible bulbs, and it is equally at home lining a commercial walkway as it is a domestic front garden. A matching Black finish is also available if white doesn't suit your scheme.

Questions people ask

Does this come with a bulb?
The None option is supplied as a fitting only, with the bulb sold separately. The Photocell options include a 9W Lumena dusk to dawn LED GLS bulb as part of the kit.

How far apart should I space these along a path?
For even light, aim for 2 to 3 metres apart if the lights run along the same side, or 4 to 5 metres apart if you're staggering them across the path.

What does the IP44 rating cover?
IP44 protects against splashing water from any direction, which suits typical outdoor path and patio locations.
