A Flicker, Not a Glow
Phoenix trades a steady light for a gentle flicker, amber LEDs built to mimic the movement of a real flame rather than sit still like a standard bulb. Strung along a fence, pergola or patio, the effect reads closer to candlelight or firelight than typical festoon lighting.
Choosing Your Length
Phoenix is built from 5m sections of 10 lamps spaced 50cm apart, so the 10m and 15m options simply link further sections to the same solar panel. A single 5m run suits a doorway or small seating area, while 10m or 15m covers a longer fence line or wraps around a larger patio.
How It Works
A high efficiency solar panel with its own ground spike and wall mount charges the built in batteries during the day, with a USB-C port for a manual top up if sunlight has been limited. A full charge of around 8 to 9 hours gives roughly 40 hours of use, shorter than Lumena's steady light festoon ranges since the flicker effect draws more power. Rather than a remote control, Phoenix is set using 5 timer modes selectable on the panel itself, dusk to dawn, or fixed periods of 2, 4, 6 or 8 hours.
Where It Works Best
The amber flicker suits spaces built around a relaxed, fireside feel, pub gardens, pergolas and outdoor seating areas where a moving light adds atmosphere. Colour rendering is rated Ra84, and because it runs from its own solar panel, Phoenix also suits spots without an easy mains or 12V connection, provided the panel can be positioned facing south in direct sunlight.
