Colour That Moves Through the Dark
Hydra does not just light a garden, it animates it. Each lamp along the string holds its own fixed colour, red, green, blue, daylight white or warm white, and the sequence created as the pattern shifts along the run gives the impression of colour cascading or shooting between the bulbs, closer to a meteor shower than a static festoon set.
Choosing Your Length
Every Hydra set is built from 5m sections, each carrying 10 lamps spaced 50cm apart, so the 10m and 15m options are simply two or three of those sections joined together rather than a different product. Choose 5m for a single wall, doorway or small tree, and step up to 10m or 15m to wrap a larger pergola, run the full length of a fence, or link several features together from one solar panel.
How It Works
A high efficiency solar panel, supplied with its own ground spike and wall mount, charges the built in batteries during the day and powers the string after dark, with a USB-C port available to top up charge manually during a run of dull weather. From full charge, expect around 8 hours to recharge and up to around 80 hours of use, and the included remote control switches between 12 lighting modes, from a slow meteor effect to constant on, without having to walk over to the panel itself. Timer and dimming settings are also selectable from the back of the panel.
Where It Works Best
The moving colour effect suits spaces meant to be looked at rather than just lit for practical use, a garden wall, pergola or entertaining area where guests will notice the pattern rather than a path that simply needs illuminating. Because it runs entirely from its own solar panel, Hydra also works well in spots without an easy mains or 12V connection, provided the panel itself can be positioned facing south in direct sunlight.

Questions People Ask
Do all the bulbs change colour, or is each one fixed?
Each lamp is fixed to a single colour, red, green, blue, daylight white or warm white. The meteor effect comes from how the lighting mode moves the pattern along the string, not from the individual bulbs changing shade.
How long will it run after charging?
Expect roughly 8 hours to recharge the batteries and up to around 80 hours of use afterwards, though this varies with the lighting mode selected and how much direct sun the panel gets.
What happens during a spell of dull weather?
The solar panel includes a USB-C port so the batteries can be topped up manually from any USB power source if sunlight has been limited.
