A Beam You Can Aim
The Astros turns a plain garden corner into a lit feature, throwing a tight spot of light exactly where you point it rather than washing the whole bed in glow. Solid natural copper wraps the head, brass carries the moving parts, and a serrated clamp joint lets you tilt the beam through a full 180 degrees until a tree, a wall or a statue catches the light just right.
Choosing Your Fixing
The Astros head and lamp are identical across every option here, natural copper with a solid brass base, fastener and clamp joint, so what changes is only how it meets the ground. The 50mm polycarbonate ground spike is the standard way in, simply pushed into a border or lawn. Prefer something sturdier or permanent, the brass ground spike and brass surface mount both anchor solidly into soil or a hard surface such as decking or paving. For lighting up a trunk or branch rather than a bed, the tree bracket clips around timber instead of going into the ground.
How It Works
Power arrives through a two pin Plug and Play connector on around 5 metres of cable, so the Astros drops straight into a 12V garden lighting circuit without any wiring. Inside the copper head sits a standard MR16 lamp holder rated up to 50W; Lumena recommends fitting a low voltage LED MR16 to keep running costs down. An integrated glare shield keeps the beam a focused spot rather than a spreading flood, and the brass clamp joint holds whatever angle you set even after the light has been outside through a full season.
Where It Works Best
Because the beam stays tight and directional, the Astros suits uplighting a single specimen tree, a piece of statuary, an archway or a house corner rather than lighting a whole path or patio. Mounted low on a ground spike it grazes up a trunk or wall; fixed to the tree bracket instead it can throw light back down from height. The IP54 rating covers the splashes and driving rain of a UK garden without needing a sheltered spot.

Questions People Ask
Does the Astros come with a bulb?
No. It takes a single MR16 lamp rated up to 50W, sold separately, and Lumena recommends choosing a low voltage LED version to save on running costs.
What is the difference between the four fixing options?
The light itself is identical in every case. The polycarbonate ground spike is the standard way to stand it in a border, the brass ground spike and brass surface mount give a heavier duty fixing into soil or a hard surface, and the tree bracket clips around a trunk or branch instead.
How far can I angle the head?
The brass clamp joint lets you tilt the spotlight through 180 degrees vertically, so it can be set anywhere from a low graze to a steep uplight.
