A Slim Glass Column For Narrow Spaces
The Temple Tall Floor Lamp is a slender hand blown glass column, just 60mm across, standing on a flat plated metal base and topped with a lamp holder ready for a shade of your own. Its skinny profile is the point: it adds height and a soft pool of light to a hallway, bedroom or kitchen without taking much room. The glass is blown by hand in Leverint's London studio. It is also a tall floor lamp, standing 1300mm high to the top of the lamp holder, before any shade is added, on a 250mm wide base, and it weighs approximately 7.5kg. Please note that the fabric shade shown in the photos is not included, so you can pair the base with a shade of your own choosing.
Choose Your Glass and Metal Finish
Each lamp is made to order in your choice of hand blown glass and plated metal finish, chosen from the swatches above when you order. The photos show the column in clear glass and in ribbed glass, which adds fine vertical lines along its length. Leverint plates the metalwork in polished brass, brushed brass, weathered brass, bronze, polished nickel or satin nickel, so you can match it to the rest of your scheme. Because the glass is blown by hand and the metal is plated by hand, the colour and texture of your lamp may vary slightly from the photos, and screens show colour differently from one device to another. If you are unsure about a finish before ordering, please call our customer service team.
How It Works
The lamp takes one E27 bulb. It is not supplied with one as standard, but you can add Leverint's T45 LED filament bulb from the dropdown above, or choose no bulb and fit your own. Leverint's technical sheet lists a 40W maximum, while its product page lists 8W for an LED bulb, so a low wattage LED filament bulb is the sensible choice. It is supplied with 1.5 metres of fabric sleeved flex and an inline switch, so you add a bulb and a shade and plug it in. Leverint does not supply the shade, so choose one that suits an E27 lamp holder and the slim proportions of the base. The inline switch is on and off only, so the lamp is not dimmable as supplied. If you ever want the lamp rewired or connected to anything other than the supplied switch, have that work carried out by a qualified electrician.
Where It Works Best
Leverint designed the Temple Tall Floor Lamp for hallways, bedrooms, kitchens and other living spaces. With a column only 60mm wide and a 250mm base, it fits where a bulkier floor lamp would not, such as beside an armchair, at the end of a hallway console or in a corner of a bedroom. The glass stays quiet and the shade you choose sets the tone, so a clear column lets the light and the shade take centre stage, while a ribbed column adds a little texture to the stem.
Made By Leverint
Leverint is a hand blown glass lighting studio based in Enfield, London, where each piece of glass is shaped by hand rather than cast in a mould. The studio says it draws on more than a century of glassblowing experience through its parent company, G Farley and Sons, and its founders bring decades of lighting design and glass artistry to every lamp. A long, narrow glass column like this one depends on consistent walls from top to bottom, which is where that hand skill shows.
