The Temple Medium Pendant takes its name from the fluted glass tube at its centre, a shape that echoes the reeded columns of classical architecture. Hand blown glass rods run the full length of the shade, catching the light from the bulb inside and throwing soft vertical lines across the room. It reads as a single, sculptural cylinder rather than a conventional shade, which is what makes it work equally well on its own or gathered into a cluster.

Choose Your Finish

This pendant ships in your choice of hand blown glass and plated metal finish, chosen when you order. The photos on this page show it in ribbed glass on polished brass fittings, but Leverint blows the same shade in fine ribbed glass too, and plates the fittings in brushed brass, weathered brass, bronze, polished nickel or satin nickel, so you can match it to the rest of your scheme.

How It Works

Each pendant takes a single 40W max E27 bulb, which is not supplied as standard, so you can choose the tone and style of filament that suits the fitting. It's mains dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer switch and bulb. The glass tube measures 100mm in diameter and 360mm in height, and hangs on a fabric sleeved cable with a 1 metre drop as standard. The shade is open ended rather than sealed, letting the light spill both up and down its length. As with all hardwired lighting, we recommend having it installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

The Temple Medium Pendant suits living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways. Its slim profile makes it a natural fit above a kitchen island, where a run of two or three can mark out a worktop without crowding it, and it works just as well as a single drop beside a dining table or in a stairwell, or gathered into a multi pendant cascade for a taller, more dramatic space.

Made By Leverint

Leverint is a hand blown glass lighting studio based in Enfield, London, where every shade is shaped by hand rather than cast from a mould. The studio says it draws on more than a century of glassblowing experience through its parent company, G Farley and Sons, and its founders bring decades of combined lighting design and glass artistry to each piece. That heritage shows in the Temple's glass, worked by hand into a form that would be far harder to achieve by casting.
