A Generous Line of Glass Over the Table
The Temple Rod Pendant Large stretches the idea of the Temple to 1200mm: one hand blown glass bar, lit from within by an integrated LED strip and hung level from two slim rods. Leverint describes the range as commanding, multi stream lighting, and at this length it takes the place of a whole row of pendants. This is a large, heavy fitting: the Large is 1200mm long and weighs approximately 6.65kg, so please check it against your table, island and ceiling before you order. Hung low and centred, it gives one long, calm line of light.
Choose Your Finish
Each pendant is made to order in your choice of hand blown glass and plated metal finish, chosen from the swatches and dropdowns above on this page. The glass comes in ribbed or fine ribbed, and the photos show both, with the ribbed glass giving clear lines along the bar and the fine ribbed glass a quieter, more even surface. The rods and ceiling fittings can be plated in polished brass, brushed brass, weathered brass, bronze, polished nickel or satin nickel. The colour of the light is chosen from the dropdown above too: 2700K warm, 3000K warm white or 4000K natural white. Because the glass is blown by hand and the metal is plated by hand, the colour and texture of your pendant may vary slightly from the photos, and screens show colour differently from one device to another. If you are unsure about a finish before ordering, please call our customer service team.
How It Works
There is no bulb to buy or change. The light comes from an integrated LED linear strip, rated at 15W and 24V, which runs from an external driver. Leverint's technical sheet says the driver is to be concealed within the ceiling cavity, and Leverint asks customers to contact them for guidance on installing it. The pendant can be dimmed from the wall through a mains dimmer pack, which lets the same fitting work for a bright breakfast and a low supper. This is a hardwired ceiling fitting, and we recommend installation by a qualified electrician, ideally one who is NICEIC registered. The overall drop is made to specification, with up to 1000mm as standard.
Where It Works Best
The Large suits a family dining table or a kitchen island of medium to generous size, where its 1200mm length can sit within the edges of the surface below. It also works over a long hallway console, a bar or a wide desk, anywhere that a single strong horizontal looks better than several small lights. If you need something shorter or longer, Leverint makes the same pendant in Medium at 1000mm and XL at 1500mm.
Made By Leverint
Leverint is a hand blown glass lighting studio based in Enfield, London, where each piece of glass is shaped by hand rather than cast in a mould. The studio says it draws on more than a century of glassblowing experience through its parent company, G Farley and Sons, and its founders bring decades of lighting design and glass artistry to every pendant. Keeping the walls of a bar over a metre long even from end to end is a good example of the control involved.
