A Tall Fluted Glass Column for Big Spaces
The Temple Large Pendant is the tallest of the three Temple sizes: a slim glass tube with fine vertical flutes that is 100mm across and 490mm high, before the 1 metre drop. A plated metal collar sits at the top of the glass, fixed with small round studs, and the bulb shows through the ribbing below it. It is a genuinely long fitting, so it suits a stairwell, a double height hall, a dining table with plenty of ceiling above it or a run over a kitchen island where a smaller shade would look lost. Please check the height against your ceiling before ordering. Every shade is shaped by hand in Leverint's London studio. The colour and texture of your pendant may vary slightly from the photos, because the glass is blown by hand and the metal is plated by hand, and screens show colour differently from one device to another.
Choose Your Finish
Each Temple Large Pendant is made to order in your choice of hand blown glass, plated metal finish and fabric flex colour, chosen from the swatches and dropdowns above on this page. The photos show the shade in ribbed glass, with broader flutes, and in fine ribbed glass, with a tighter, more delicate pattern. Leverint plates the metalwork in polished brass, brushed brass, weathered brass, bronze, polished nickel or satin nickel, and the fabric sleeved flex comes in charcoal, whisky, slate grey, linen, coffee or khaki. The pendant in the photos has a brass toned fitting and a dark flex, so pick the combination that suits your room. If you are unsure about a finish before ordering, please call our customer service team.
How It Works
The Temple Large hangs from a 65mm ceiling rose on a fabric sleeved flex, with a 1 metre drop as standard. Leverint's website lists an E27 lamp type for this size. A bulb is not supplied as standard, but you can add Leverint's T30 LED filament bulb or its GU10 LED spotlight from the dropdown above, or choose no bulb and fit your own. Leverint's technical sheet gives a maximum of 40W, so a low wattage LED bulb is the sensible choice inside glass. The pendant is mains dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer switch and dimmable bulb. As a hardwired ceiling fitting, it should be installed by a qualified electrician, ideally one who is NICEIC registered.
Where It Works Best
Leverint suggests its Temple pendants for kitchens, stairwells, living spaces and entrances, and the Large is the size that makes the most of a tall space. Hung alone beside a staircase or in a hallway it reads as a single sculptural column of glass, and a row of two or three over a kitchen island or a long dining table gives a strong vertical rhythm. The flutes soften the bulb's glow into fine lines of light, which looks particularly good where the pendant can be seen from a distance.
Made By Leverint
Leverint is a hand blown glass lighting studio based in Enfield, London, where each shade is shaped by hand rather than cast in a mould. The studio says it draws on more than a century of glassblowing experience through its parent company, G Farley and Sons, and its founders bring decades of lighting design and glass artistry to every piece.
