A Sculptural Stack of Hand Blown Glass
The Queensway Table Lamp is built from three rounded glass sections stacked into one tall column, with a pinched ring between each section. A slim metal stem runs up through the centre of the glass to the lamp holder, and the whole column stands on a small plated metal disc. It is a sculptural shape, hand blown in Leverint's London studio, that suits a console table, an office desk or a bedside table. It stands 450mm high before a shade is added, so it is a tall lamp, and the fabric shade shown in the photos is not included, so you can pair the base with a shade of your own choosing.
Choose Your Glass and Metal Finish
Each lamp is made to order in your choice of hand blown glass and plated metal finish, chosen from the swatches above when you order. The glass comes in ribbed or fine ribbed, and the photos show the fine ribbed version, where narrow vertical ribs run down each rounded section. The photos show the lamp on one metal finish only, so use the swatches to see the full range. Leverint plates the metalwork in polished brass, brushed brass, weathered brass, bronze, polished nickel or satin nickel. Because the glass is blown by hand and the metal is plated by hand, the colour and texture of your lamp may vary slightly from the photos, and screens show colour differently from one device to another. If you are unsure about a finish before ordering, please call our customer service team.
How It Works
The lamp takes one E27 bulb. It is not supplied with one as standard, but you can add Leverint's T45 LED filament bulb from the dropdown above, or choose no bulb and fit your own. Leverint lists a 40W maximum on its technical sheet, and a low wattage LED filament bulb is the sensible choice inside glass. It comes with 1.5 metres of fabric sleeved flex and an inline switch, so it is a plug in lamp: unpack it, add a bulb and a shade, and plug it in. The inline switch is on and off only, so the lamp is not dimmable as supplied. If you ever want the lamp rewired or connected to anything other than the supplied switch, have that work carried out by a qualified electrician.
Where It Works Best
With a 100mm wide glass column on a 120mm base and a height of 450mm to the top of the lamp holder, this is a tall, slim lamp that adds height without taking much table space. Leverint suggests it for modern console tables, office desks, bedside tables and similar surfaces around the home, and it works as one of a pair either side of a bed or a mirror, or on its own at the end of a console. The ribbed glass lets the bulb light show through the stacked sections as well as through the shade above.
Made By Leverint
Leverint is a hand blown glass lighting studio based in Enfield, London, where each piece of glass is shaped by hand rather than cast in a mould. The studio says it draws on more than a century of glassblowing experience through its parent company, G Farley and Sons. A stacked, pinched shape like the Queensway's is the kind of form that hand blowing makes possible, because the rings are shaped into the glass itself.
