A Perfect Sphere of Hand Blown Glass
The Pimlico Table Lamp is a single round glass sphere that rests on a small plated metal disc, with a slim metal stem rising through the centre of the glass to the lamp holder. It is a bold, simple shape, hand blown in Leverint's London studio, and because a sphere looks the same from every side it sits happily on a hallway console, a bedside table or a living room side table. Please note that the fabric shade shown in the photos is not included, so you can pair the base with a shade of your own choosing.
Choose Your Glass and Metal Finish
Each lamp is made to order in your choice of hand blown glass and plated metal finish, chosen from the swatches above when you order. The photos show the sphere in clear, ribbed, fine ribbed, transparent black and opaque white glass, as well as the ribbed twist and fine ribbed twist textures, which swirl diagonally around the sphere and are available as an upgrade. Each glass is pictured on one metal finish only, so use the swatches to see the full range. Leverint plates the metalwork in polished brass, brushed brass, weathered brass, bronze, polished nickel or satin nickel. Because the glass is blown by hand and the metal is plated by hand, the colour and texture of your lamp may vary slightly from the photos, and screens show colour differently from one device to another. If you are unsure about a finish before ordering, please call our customer service team.
How It Works
The lamp takes one E27 bulb. It is not supplied with one as standard, but you can add Leverint's T45 LED filament bulb from the dropdown above, or choose no bulb and fit your own. Leverint lists a 40W maximum on its technical sheet, and a low wattage LED filament bulb is the sensible choice inside a glass sphere. It comes with 1.5 metres of fabric sleeved flex and an inline switch, so it is a plug in lamp: unpack it, add a bulb and a shade, and plug it in. The inline switch is on and off only, so the lamp is not dimmable as supplied. If you ever want the lamp rewired or connected to anything other than the supplied switch, have that work carried out by a qualified electrician.
Where It Works Best
With a 200mm wide glass sphere on a 120mm base and a height of 275mm to the top of the lamp holder, this is a compact, rounded table lamp rather than a tall one. Leverint suggests it for hallways, bedrooms and other living spaces, and it suits a console table, a bedside table or a side table beside a sofa, where its round shape softens straight edged furniture. A matching pair on either side of a bed works well, and the ribbed and twisted glass options give the bulb light a textured surface to play across.
Made By Leverint
Leverint is a hand blown glass lighting studio based in Enfield, London, where each piece of glass is shaped by hand rather than cast in a mould. The studio says it draws on more than a century of glassblowing experience through its parent company, G Farley and Sons. A sphere is a good showcase for hand blown glass, because the glass is the whole of the design and there is nowhere for the shape to hide.

What glass and metal finishes can I choose?
The glass sphere comes in clear, ribbed, fine ribbed, transparent black or opaque white hand blown glass, with ribbed twist and fine ribbed twist textures as an upgrade. The metalwork can be plated in polished brass, brushed brass, weathered brass, bronze, polished nickel or satin nickel. Pick your combination from the swatches on this page when you order.
How big is the glass sphere on the Pimlico Table Lamp?

Does the Pimlico Table Lamp come with a bulb?
Not as standard. It takes one E27 bulb, 40W max, and you can add Leverint's T45 LED filament bulb from the bulb dropdown when you order, or choose no bulb and fit your own low wattage LED filament bulb, which runs cool inside the glass.
