The Kingston Small Pendant is a sweeping, teardrop shaped glass shade that narrows to the fitting at the top and swells into a soft, rounded base. Every shade is hand blown in Leverint's London studio and hung on a fabric sleeved cable. At 150mm wide and 200mm high it is the smallest of the three Kingston sizes, a neat pendant that suits close groupings and lower ceilings. Several of the photos show larger Kingston sizes and mixed groups, so please use the measurements on this page to judge scale.

Choose Your Finish

Each pendant is made to order in your choice of hand blown glass, plated metal finish and fabric flex colour, chosen from the swatches and dropdowns above on this page. The photos show the Kingston in smoky transparent black, clear and fine ribbed glass, and Leverint also blows it in ribbed and opaque white, with ribbed twist and fine ribbed twist textures available as an upgrade. The metalwork can be finished in polished brass, brushed brass, weathered brass, bronze, polished nickel or satin nickel, and the cable comes in charcoal, whisky, slate grey, linen, coffee or khaki. Because the glass is blown by hand and the metal is plated by hand, the colour and texture of your pendant may vary slightly from the photos, and screens show colour differently from one device to another. How It Works

The pendant hangs on 1 metre of fabric sleeved cable as standard and takes one E14 bulb of up to 40W. A bulb is not supplied as standard, but you can add Leverint's T20 LED filament bulb from the dropdown above, or choose no bulb and fit your own. Leverint lists the Kingston as mains dimmable, so it will work with a compatible dimmer switch and dimmable bulb. The ceiling rose is 65mm across. As a hardwired ceiling fitting, it should always be installed by a qualified electrician, ideally one who is NICEIC registered.

Where It Works Best

The tapered shape of the Kingston draws the eye down to the glow of the bulb, which makes the Small a good choice over a bedside table, a narrow console or a small dining table. Hung in a group at staggered heights, teardrops like these make a graceful cascade beside a staircase or in front of a tall window, and the photos show several arrangements of that kind. In smoky or clear glass the shape reads as a quiet, sculptural silhouette, while the ribbed finishes break the light into soft lines.

Made By Leverint

Leverint is a hand blown glass lighting studio based in Enfield, London, where every shade is shaped by hand rather than cast from a mould. The studio says it draws on more than a century of glassblowing experience through its parent company G Farley and Sons. A flowing teardrop curve like the Kingston's is shaped by hand, so each shade has its own slight differences in outline.

How big is the Kingston Small Pendant?

The glass shade is 150mm wide and 200mm high, and it hangs on 1 metre of cable as standard. Leverint also makes the Kingston in Medium, which is 180mm wide and 300mm high, and Large, which is 250mm wide and 350mm high.
