A Slim, Tall Glass Box for the Wall

The Chelsea Tall Wall Lantern stretches the Chelsea box lantern into a slender vertical shape, with glass panels set in a mitred metal frame so the bulb is visible from the front and the sides. Leverint rates it IP44 and describes it as suited to outdoors, bathrooms or interiors. It is a tall fitting, standing 470mm high, 150mm wide and 140mm deep, which makes it a good choice for a tall, narrow stretch of wall beside a door or window.

The photos on this page show the Chelsea range outdoors on stone in other proportions, so please rely on the dimensions here for the Tall. Because every lantern is hand crafted, the colour and texture of your lantern may vary slightly from the photos, and screens show colour differently from one device to another. How It Works

The lantern takes one E27 LED bulb. It is not supplied with one as standard, but you can add Leverint's T32 LED filament bulb from the dropdown above, or choose no bulb and fit your own. Leverint lists it as mains dimmable, so a compatible dimmer switch and a dimmable bulb will let you adjust the glow. It is mounted flat to the wall, and the cable entry hole in the wall plate is centred horizontally and vertically. This is a hardwired wall fitting, so we recommend that it is installed by a qualified electrician, ideally one who is NICEIC registered.

Where It Works Best

The extra height suits spots where a shorter lantern would look lost: either side of a tall front door, beside a full height window, along a garden or courtyard wall, or in a hallway with a high ceiling. Leverint suggests the range for outdoors, bathrooms and interiors, so it can also work on a bathroom wall with enough height. Fitted as a pair, the Tall frames an entrance with a clean vertical line.

Leverint is a hand blown glass lighting studio based in Enfield, London, and every Chelsea lantern is made to order in the UK. The studio says it draws on more than a century of glassblowing experience through its parent company, G Farley and Sons. The Tall shows off the Chelsea's engineered metal frame, with its mitred corners running the full height of the box.
