The Chelsea Small Wall Lantern is a neat, box shaped lantern with glass panels set in a mitred metal frame, so the bulb is on show from the front and the sides. Leverint rates it IP44 and describes it as suited to outdoors, bathrooms or interiors. This is the smallest of the three Chelsea sizes, measuring 150mm wide, 290mm high and 140mm deep, which makes it a good fit beside a front door, on a narrow stretch of wall or in a tighter hallway.

Each lantern is made to order, with the metalwork finish chosen from the swatches above on this page when you order. Leverint offers antique black, bronze and pewter. The studio photo shows the lantern in antique black with a lit filament bulb, and the wall photos show the Chelsea range outdoors against stone, so you can see how the glass and frame catch the light. Because every lantern is hand crafted, the colour and texture of your lantern may vary slightly from the photos, and screens show colour differently from one device to another. How It Works

The lantern takes one E27 LED bulb. It is not supplied with one as standard, but you can add Leverint's T45 LED filament bulb from the dropdown above, or choose no bulb and fit your own. Leverint lists it as mains dimmable, so a compatible dimmer switch and a dimmable bulb will let you set the mood. It is mounted flat to the wall, and the cable entry hole in the wall plate is centred horizontally and vertically. This is a hardwired wall fitting, so we recommend that it is installed by a qualified electrician, ideally one who is NICEIC registered.

Where It Works Best

At 290mm high, the Small is the most discreet of the Chelsea sizes. Leverint suggests the range for outdoors, bathrooms and interiors, so it suits a porch or front door, a garden or patio wall, a hallway or a bathroom wall. A pair either side of a doorway or a mirror gives a tidy, symmetrical look, while a single lantern works well on a short wall where a larger box would feel crowded.

Leverint is a hand blown glass lighting studio based in Enfield, London, and every Chelsea lantern is made to order in the UK. The studio says it draws on more than a century of glassblowing experience through its parent company, G Farley and Sons. The Chelsea pairs that lighting experience with a precise, engineered metal frame.
